In the framework of the joint partnership project, Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been closely working with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Upper Bavaria (IHK) since July of 2015.
The main aim of the joint project is to support SMEs and improve the Georgian labor market. The project has a 3(3+)-year time frame and is designed to enhance informational and consultative service capabilities of GCCI.
IHK long term expert has been working at the office of GCCI since February 2016. To enhance the capacity of the Chamber, GCCI employees were provided with trainings, re-qualifying courses, study tours etc. Trainings were provided for GCCI council members representing tourism and agricultural sectors as well.
In the framework of the joint project, GCCI and IHK are closely cooperating with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia on professional education reform in Georgia. Specifically, GCCI is supported to take an active part in the implementation process of the dual professional education system in Georgia.
Services Quality assurance was designed for “Railways of Georgia”. The employees of Georgian railways have visited Munich for Training courses in two groups. With the support of the joint project, GCCI established DCFTA information center offices in Tbilisi and regions of Georgia. The project supported Georgian International Arbitration Center in the popularization of the arbitration in Georgia. To raise awareness about GCCI and its services IHK financially supports media tours, attended by central and regional media representatives. With the support of the projects, GCCI has improved its role as the mediator between the Georgian Government and the private sector. The level of interaction and co-operation with the private sector has increased, in the form of an “Open Dialogue with Business” meetings organized by GCCI.
