In 2018 Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the State Procurement Agency, funded by G4G (USAID-Governing for Growth), implemented the project "Regional Procurement Training and Awareness Raising". The project covered 5 regions of Georgia: Imereti, Kakheti, Shida Kartli, Adjara and Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. 3 representatives (15 in total) were selected from each region and were trained in Tbilisi for 10 days. The training covered topics of public procurement, presentation skills nd effective communication.
After the training, selected beneficiaries held four-day training for local entrepreneurs in their regions. The trainings were coordinated by GCCI and G4G. The project also covered Q&A sessions. Regional enterprises had an opportunity to ask questions to the representatives of the State Procurement Agency and discuss various problematic issues.
Within the project, 2,500 textbooks on state procurements were published and distributed to entrepreneurs for free. Textbooks were designed for awareness-raising purposes.
In the framework of the project, 15 trainers were trained and provided further trainings for 130 entrepreneurs. 204 companies participated in the Q&A sessions with State Procurement Agency representatives.
