At the initiative of the Aviation Consulting Group, an Aviation Committee was established under the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, headed by Giorgi Molodinashvili.
The Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry approve the members of the Aviation Committee. In addition, the committee has the opportunity to request the invitation of guest experts.
According to the President of the Chamber, Giorgi Pertaia, today there is a need to create a committee in the field of aviation, so that companies can take a unified position, submit concrete proposals and messages to the government. This way, the state also makes decisions easier.
"The Chamber of Commerce and Industry unites about 900 small and medium-sized businesses, and recently large business circles have joined forces. Our main function is to organize business ideas and present them to the government through various chamber committees. Companies unite to overcome a common problem. Today, there is a need for it in the field of aviation," said Giorgi Pertaia.
According to Giorgi Molodinashvili, negotiations have already been held with 55 companies and 98% have expressed their readiness to join and be actively involved in the activities of the committee.
"We lacked consolidation of the interests of the airlines in the crisis. We want to unite all the companies, whose voices will be heard within this committee. The main purpose of the committee is to protect the interests of each airline. The field needs unity, we need to talk about the problematic issues and challenges that exist in the field. Today, the entire sector is stalled due to the coronavirus. Many areas presented vision and solutions, though not the aviation industry. We will formulate measures to take in the post-crisis period, and offer our ideas to the state," said Giorgi Molodinashvili.
