1553 business entities participated in the study, mainly small and medium entrepreneurs from the regions of Georgia and depicts both, the actual circumstances, as well as expectations and challenges of business.
89% of respondents are regional businesses and 97% - small and medium entrepreneurs. Representatives of about 50 sectors participated in the study.
The main directions of the survey are - the assessment of the current losses and challenges of the private sector, business expectations, grace period, remote working and measures taken by the government.
The survey found that 76% of companies had reduced turnover as a result of the pandemic, 39% could not implement planned investments, 43% of companies had already reduced staff remuneration, and more than 91% of entrepreneurs positively assessed the measures taken by the government to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to protect public health.
Based on the study of these results, Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry will develop recommendations and proposals for donor organizations and relevant public entities.
The first phase of the study was conducted in March 2020, prior to the imposition of the state of emergency / economic constraint.
